Antique Chinese "Butterfly" Coffer (2011) Ming Style, Circa 1800-1849
This authentic Chinese Antique Coffer is made in elegant Ming style. The coffer is crafted into "butterfly" shape with unique carving lines around the side and front apron of the chest. The panels on the front surface of the chest are crafted with double carving lines. Copper hardware. There is a "secret compartment" underneath the two drawers (the place that was used for storing valuables). The coffer is handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. The customers who bought these style of the cabinets from us before, used them as Kitchen Island by adding up marble top, or as Vanity cabinet with vessel sink, or as night table next to bed, and many other uses. Original Wear and Patina. Handmade from Elm wood with beautiful natural wood grain, the coffer is very solid and has been kept in excellent condition. Circa early of 19th century.
