Antique Tall Temple Altar Table (5543), Phoebe Wood, Circa 1800-1949

This Authentic Antique Chinese Altar Table is a tall temple Altar. The table is originally collected from a Buddhist Temple in Shanxi province in China.  The intricate carvings of traditional Chinese "Auspicious" patterns decorate the front apron of the table. The legs of the table are ornately carved with "clouds and water waves" design. The legs of the table are crafted with deep curves and carvings on the edges. The table is crafted with wooden pegs and tenon structure; which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Made from Phoebe Wood, the table is very heavy and solid, and has been kept in excellent condition. Circa early of 19th century. Original patina and wear.
