Antique Altar Table (5564), Circa early of 19th century
This Antique Chinese Altar Table is A Rare Find. The intricate relief carvings of "dragons and scrolls" design decorate the front and back spandrels of the table. (the table can be displayed from both sides) The side panels connecting the legs are carved with the same design. The carvings on the panels are "double-side carvings" and be viewed from both sides. The top surface of the table is made from one single plank of wood (seamless). The delicate relief carvings and craftsmanship make this table an outstanding piece of antique of the 19th century. The table is crafted with wooden pegs and a tenon structure; which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Made with the core of Elm Wood, the table is very heavy and solid. Excellent condition. Circa early of 19th century. Original patina and wear.
