Antique Chinese Ming Arm Chairs (3059), Circa 1800-1849
This pair of Antique Chinese Arm Chairs is made in elegant Ming style. The intricate relief carvings of traditional Chinese "dragon" design decorate the back splat of the chairs. The relief carvings are highlighted with gold color. Both the arms and the back splats of the chairs are crafted with deep curves. The front opening underneath the seats is uniquely crafted in "arch" shape. The chairs are handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Circa early of 19th century. Original Wear and Patina. Made from combination of cypress and elm wood with beautiful wood grain, the chairs are very solid and have been kept in excellent condition.
