This antique Chinese square game table was traditionally known as an “Eight Immortals” table. Crafted in the elegant Ming style, it features the “Round Wrapped in Round” (圆包圆） technique, characterized by seamless curves and gracefully rounded legs—each meticulously carved from a single plank of elm wood.
The table is fully handcrafted using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery and wooden pegs, reflecting the time-honored techniques of classical Chinese furniture making.
Dating from the early 19th century, it is constructed from core elm wood with a beautifully figured grain. The table remains solid and sturdy, with its original patina and wear preserved—adding authenticity and historical charm.
