$ 1,199.00

This early 19th-century "official's hat chair," named for its projections resembling the knobs on the hats of Ming Dynasty administrators, exemplifies traditional Chinese craftsmanship. Handcrafted with wooden pegs and tenon construction, it features a high back with intricate carvings on the back splat and gracefully curved arms. The back splat and armrests are designed with deep curves, while the front opening beneath the seat showcases a distinctive arch-shaped carving. Made from solid elmwood with striking natural grain, the chair is well-preserved, retaining its original patina and wear.
