Antique Chinese Kang Cabinet (3331), Cypress Wood, Circa 1800-1849
This Antique Chinese "Kang" cabinet is handcrafted in Ming style with traditional "Horse Hoof" legs and straight lines. The finely carved swirling and encircling "scroll" design decorate the front apron of the cabinet. The style of these carvings is derived from the design of ancient Chinese bronzes, and popular collectibles during the Ming-Qing dynasty. Copper Hardware is original. The cabinet was handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and a tenon structure—the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Can be used as a low coffee table, bench, or TV stand. Made from a combination of cypress and elmwood with beautiful wood grain, the cabinet is very solid and has been kept in excellent condition. Original patina and wear. Circa in the early 19th century.
