This Antique Chinese Altar Table is A Rare Find. The table is originally collected from a Buddhist Temple in Shanxi province in China. The front of the table is intricately carved with a "flying dragon" design. Traditional Chinese "Auspicious" patterns decorate the back of the table (the table can be displayed from both sides) The side panels of the table are carved with a Chinese "Eternity" design motif. The ornate carvings are double-sided and can be viewed from both sides. The wood plank used for the surface of this table is more than two inches thick. The table is crafted with wooden pegs and a tenon structure; which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Made with the core of Elm Wood, the table is very heavy and solid.  Excellent condition. Circa early of 19th century. Original patina and wear.
