This Authentic Chinese Antique Coffer is also known as "Butterfly Cabinet" in China. The style of the coffer has great influence of Mongolian furniture during Qing Dynasty (Qing Dynasty in China was ruled by Mongolian people). The intricate relief carvings of floral design decorate the two drawers. The open carving of traditional Chinese "scroll" design on the doors are crafted into two medallions. Both the spandrels and the front apron decorate with scalloped carvings. The two doors are made with wooden hinge and can be removed easily. The copper hardware on the two drawers are original lock. The detailed handwork in making this cabinet show great craftsmanship. The customers who bought these style of the cabinets from us before, used them as Kitchen Island by adding up marble top, or as Vanity cabinet with vessel sink, or as entertainment cabinet with sound equipment inside, and many other uses. The coffer is handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Original Wear and Patina. Handmade from Elm wood with beautiful wood grain, the coffer is very solid and has been kept in excellent condition. Circa early of 19th century.
