Antique Chinese Ming Spring Bench (5787), Zelkova Wood, Circa 1800-1849
This authentic Antique Chinese Bench is known as "Spring Bench" in China. The bench is crafted in Ming style with traditional "Horse Hoof" legs. The intricate carvings of "scholar's scroll" design decorate all sides of the bench. The frame and the top of the bench are all made with one single plank of wood. The detailed handwork and the carving lines of the bench show the elegance of Ming furniture. This unique bench is a rare find in today's market. The bench is handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Made from Zelkova Wood, the bench is very solid and kept in excellent condition. Circa early of 19th century. Original patina and wear.
