Antique Chinese Ming Arm Chairs (5879) (Pair), Circa 1800-1849
This pair of Antique Chinese Arm Chairs is made in elegant Ming style. Chinese calligraphy of "double longevity" design was intricately carved on the back splat of the chairs and highlighted with gold color. Both the arms and the back splats are uniquely carved with deep curves. The front panels underneath the chairs are carved into "arch" shape. The chairs are handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Made from combination of cypress and elm wood with beautiful wood grain, the chairs are very solid and have been kept in excellent condition. Circa early to mid of 19th century. Original Wear and Patina.
