Antique Chinese Ming Meditation Bench (5391) (Pair), Circa 1800-1849

This pair of authentic Antique Chinese Ming Meditation Bench is crafted in Ming "Waist" furniture style. The "waist" just below the bench top is made from separate piece of wood and carved in a "narrower waist" connecting the top and the body of the bench in a very unique way. The traditional "horse-hoof" legs and straight lines of these benches show the elegance of Ming furniture. The detailed handworks show great workmanship in making this pair of the benches. The benches are handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Made from core of Elm wood, the benches are very solid and kept in excellent condition. Can be used as side tables, end table, sofa tables or even night stands. Circa early of 19th century. Original patina and wear.
